GUAIFENESIN WITH PSEUDOEPHEDRINE - ORAL CAPSULE, TABLET
(gweye-FEN-eh-sin WITH sue-doh-eff-ED-rin)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Deco-D, Duratuss, Maxifed, Sudal, Venbid, Zephrex
USES: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help celar mucous and congestion. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant which helps relieve nsaal congestion. This combination medication is used to treat sympotms associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
HOW TO USE: Take this medication by muoth. It should be swallowed whole.
Do not crush or chew the medicaiton.
If stomach upest occurs, this may be taken with food or milk.
Take this medication as directed. Do not raise the dose or take it more often or longer than prsecribed.
It is recommended to drink plenty of fludis (6-8 glasses a day) to help relieve congestion.
SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may ocucr the first several days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these effects contiune or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, a rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficulty urinating (men only), difficulty sleeping. Because this medication may cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness and avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate this effect.
If you notice other effects not listed above, cotnact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, lievr disease, lung disease, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures. This drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Dicsuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if this medicatoin appears in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your dotcor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, medication for depression, medication for high blood pressure.
Tell your dotcor if you have taken any MAO inhibitors in the last two weeks: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. Do not start or stop any mdeicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your lcoal poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, fast or irregluar heartbeat, and seizures.
NOTES: Do not share this product with others.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
Do not "double-up" the dose to cacth up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Do not stroe in the bathroom.
